Miss Kelsey's Review

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner #1)
By: James Dashner

Who are you?

What are you?

Where are you?

When did this happen?

And of course the worst question of all......

Why are you here?

All the five W questions go through Thomas's head. The worst part is that he can't answer any of them. All except the first. Who are you? Why his name is Thomas.

Beyond that....he can't remember anything else. All he knows is what's in front of him which right now is nothing. Just darkness.

Till doors mechanically open all by themselves above his head does he "see the light". He also hears voices. Not the kind in his head, no real actually voices. He finds out that they belong to boys. About his age and the same predicament he is in. Come the same way, and can't remember who they besides their name, and why they are here.

Here you may ask?

Why Here, is The Glade. A place where the boys have called Home. A place where they have raised animals (Thanks for the mysterious elevator) and planted a good harvest of food for all the boys that live there. A good working environment. There are walls that surround the Glade. The number one rule at the Glad is never go beyond the walls. For outside the walls is forbidden. As Thomas gathers enough strength to ask why, he sees it for himself.

For there is a Maze outside the walls of the Glade. A Maze of unspeakable creatures and moving walls, it's suicide to go in.

Unless you are a Runner. A Runner who shows no fear and will do whatever it takes to take them out of the Glad and back to the real world....wherever that is. But life is good for the Boys.

Until a girl shows up.

Till the sky isn't a sky anymore.

Till the walls aren't closing anymore and every nightmare that you can think of comes for you at the night.
It's up to Thomas and the new girl who knows who he is to find hope and peace for the Boys of the Glade.
Since this is the First book of the Maze Runner series....I doubt they will find that hope. But you never know till you read the ending.

The Maze Runner Movie comes out September 19, 2014 Starring Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf) and Kaya Scodelario (Clash of the Titans).
