Leonard Nimoy.....an amazing man that brought so much joy and fun in all our lives playing Spock in the Star Trek: Original Series and directing many movies such as Three Men and a Baby passed away early today.  He was 83 years old.  He did have some health problems namely chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  He is going to be greatly missed.  I know I am going to be going home and crying my eyes out and watching as many Star Trek episodes as I can see tonight in honor of this man.  Even though I have never met him, I consider him my friend for the everything he had shown us in Star Trek and in his Books I am Not Spock and I am Spock.  Anyone who loved Star Trek is going to feel their heart breaking today.  Going to miss you, you green blooded hobgoblin!!  Live Long and Prosper my friend.

Here at the Shelby Library we love to help out.  Anything the public needs, we try our best to help them out. Now I'm not saying that we work miracles or anything, but if we can't find the answers we try to help you find someone who can!! Many of the times we would be getting patrons to come in that just needs to find a business.  Whether it be the businesses phone number, fax number or just point to where the building is!!  Many patrons heard a book on the radio and would love to read it, but just can't remember the title nor the author.  But they remember the radio station!!  We also get some people that come in and say I picked up this book not realizing it was part of the series.  Do you know the titles of the others and do you have them?  Or they saw a book on the book stand somewhere and want to read it but just can't remember the title nor the author, nor what it's all about but knows for sure, for sure that the cover of the book was Blue!   Those are jus

Happy New Year, Monkey

I know this is long overdue but.....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! It has been very busy at the Library trying to get back at the pace of actually working.  Checking on book overdue, getting back into the habit of checking in and out books, helping people finding books, (remembering where everything is) and of course picking up that pesky habit of actually waking up and getting out of bed. :) The Library had no trouble picking up the pace though.  People coming in after the holidays looking for new books to check out; needing help with their NEW Nooks, Kindles and iPads that they got for Christmas; faxing, making copies for their work.  Or just people need to check their emails.  Just getting back in the habit of day to day lives.  Seeing familiar faces, talking about what we did on our Christmas/New Years vacation, who did we see.  And then seeing new faces just dropping by, on their way home but need a print of their plane tickets.   Now it is starting be like any other day so I have take
